Brim CAD 1.0
Brim CAD is a CAD app for the Mac, made for 3D printing.
Open Help > Brim CAD Manual. The first chapter, Your first part, makes a bracket with a screw hole in about ten minutes. Every sheet in the app has a ? button that opens the manual at the part about it.
What does the app need? A Mac with macOS 26 or later.
Which files can it open? STL, 3MF, OBJ, USDZ, PLY and SVG, and its own .cadproj projects.
Which files can it write? 3MF, STL, OBJ and USDZ. 3MF is the one to prefer for printing: it keeps the unit, the names and the colours.
How do I send a model to my slicer? Export > Open in, then pick your slicer once. Bambu Studio, Orca and PrusaSlicer all work.
Does it have parametric history or constraints? No, on purpose. A shape keeps its numbers and can be reopened and changed until an operation rewrites it. The manual chapter What this app does not do lists the rest.
My project will not open and the app says it cannot open files in this format. An older copy of the app may still be installed. Delete it, then open the file again.
