RadioX plays internet radio. You can listen without an account. The app shows no ads, uses no advertising identifiers and does not sell or share data for advertising.
Station catalog. To search and list stations, the app contacts the developer’s server https://radiox-project.ru, or the backup server if you selected it in Settings. It sends the search query, the selected country and the interface language.
Playback. Audio is loaded directly from the selected station’s server. Like any web server, it sees your IP address. The app takes the track title from the stream itself and, for some stations, from the station’s own server.
Artwork and Apple Music. To show artwork and an Apple Music link, the artist and title of the current track are sent to the developer’s server. The server looks them up in the Apple Music catalog; the artwork is loaded from Apple’s servers.
Account — only if you create one. When you sign up or sign in, your username and password are sent to the developer’s server. Once signed in, the app syncs your favorites and your own stations (name, stream address and image, if you chose one), and your avatar, if you uploaded one. On the device, the password is encrypted with a key from Android Keystore and excluded from backups.
Last.fm — only if you connected it. Titles of the tracks you listen to are sent to Last.fm and handled under Last.fm’s terms.
Chromecast — only while casting. The stream address and track details are sent to the selected receiver through Google services.
Statistics and crashes. The version from the website uses AppMetrica (Yandex): crash reports and anonymous usage statistics — launches, session length, device model and Android version. Location is not collected.
Like any website, the developer’s web server keeps a technical access log: IP address, date and time, request address and client version. These records are used only to run the service and protect it from abuse.
Favorites, your own stations, settings, equalizer presets, track history and recordings are stored on the device. Without an account, they are not sent anywhere.
The app uses internet and network state access, background playback, exact alarms (for the alarm and sleep timer) and start after reboot (so the alarm still goes off). Images for your own stations and avatar are chosen through the system photo picker — the app has no access to your whole gallery. The microphone, camera, location and contacts are not used.
The app is not directed at children and does not collect age information.
You can delete your account in the app, in the account section. Your favorites, own stations and avatar on the server are deleted with it. Data on the device is removed when you uninstall the app. You can disconnect Last.fm in Settings.
